Defensive Driving

The Famous Saying :

Dim yong piu yi?

Cheh da wan go xi hao,

Lai ya lai sau zhai

Cheh biao ya biao

Gum zhao dim ?

Ying ah ma......

Translation:

How do you drift?

When the car is turning

Turn the stearing wheel

Let the car swerve a bit

So what?

It cool ma!!!

okok...i know..very lame ma right?right?right?
I know you are thinking that this very instant...

right?

Enough crapping..Anyways, today I managed to DRIFT in my car!!!!!!!!!!!
hehe...well sort of anyways

err....

actually it was more like my car skidded uncontrollably

hehe..I attended the defensive driving course together with my mom today at MBSA Shah Alam stadium and it was well, an eye-opener.

First he showed us some videos on some really tragic car crashes and we talked about some car safety stuff we didin't know about

For example, did you know that :

  1. The pen in your shirt pocket can actually pierce your heart thus killing you in a car accident
  2. Other stuff in your car e.g stuffed toys, air refresheners can act as projectiles that can injure you when you are involved in a car crash.
  3. You have almost absolutely no control of your car when you emergency break in a non-abs car going about 60 km/h
  4. Crashing into a wall at 80 km/h is equivalent to dropping a car from a 12 storey high building

All these stuff kinda created an awareness in me about car safety. Watching the video where a car crashed into a wall at only 80 km/h made me feel like taking buses and trains instead of driving. After the talk, we proceeded to the practical course which was more fun. First we did the SLALOM. hehe..sounds like some kind of fish that is closely related to salmon right? It is actually an excercise where they put cones on the ground and the driver is suppose to weave in and out of the cones.(just like football practice). This excercise was quite easy. That was until our driving instructor, Sean Khoo made us do the reverse slalom. It is exactly like the slalom but we reverse instead, and we are only suppose to use our mirrors.

Later on, we did the emergency break excercise. This is where we go around 70 km/h and then break suddenly and try to avoid an obstacle. Sounds easy right? Not when you are driving a car without abs system. Took me 4 tries to get it right. In the first 2 tries, I didn't turn in time and hit the cone which represented a person. So I actually killed 2 people...

At around 2.30pm, dad arrived in his Toyota Camry just in time for the skidding excercise. BTW, this is my first time ever driving my dads car which is sooooo much nicer than my kenari. waaa, the power steering was really nice.*drools*.Anyways, this is where I "drifted".It was really fun man...Imagine yourself going fast then suddenly turning almost 180 degrees. Twice I made the car "drift" 360 degrees.. Just like in Need for Speed..

Before long, it was the end of the course and we had to go home..wished I could do the skidding excercise a few more times.......

Laughing Marathon

Been laughing so much today until I'm too tired to blog.. All because of some ribena blackcurrent thingy that goes :

"BBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Those small little blackcurrent mascot thing that has legs and hands and jumps up and shouts "Brrrrr!!!"(In a very high pitch voic) at the end of each Ribena advertistment

Cannot tahan already. I start laughing everytime I see a Ribena drink now. Its contagious!!!!!

Ulu Bendol

Finally!!We made it to Ulu Bendol!!8 people (4 from HELP, 1 INTI, and 3 kids from Desa Perdana) braved the haze to conquer Gunung Angsi.

Our group of hikers consists of :

1. Goh Hao Wei (The person who organised this trip)
2. Esther Tan (First Aid person)
3. Hum Jo- Shua (Equiptment manager)
4. Michelle Marie (Games coordinator)
5. Koh Yih Hon a.k.a Horny (participant)
6. Nalgulen (participant)
7. Alex (participant)
8. William (participant)

Well actually, we ALMOST decided not to climb up Gunung Angsi at the last minute because some Irresponsible people from our neighbouring country (Hint Hint) decided that since the wind is blowing towards KL, that they start burning down forests since it won't affect them anyways. On thursday, I could barely make out anything out of my window. So, those people that were supposed to go for the trip gathered at A&W at 1 Utama (Yes..there are still A&Ws around here) . For about an hour we dicussed (more like argued) over whether we should still continue our trip. Unfortunately, Hui Xia decided to call her mom at the wrong time and ended up forbidden not to go. So there goes 5 people! And Wei Ping, Lee Yan and Michelle Yew also decided last minute not to go. We ALMOST cancelled our trip when Hao Wei called Esther, and Esther being her excited and stubborn self (in a good way of course) insisted that we continued our trip eventhough there were only 8 of us. Eventually, we made our plans and went on ahead with the trip.

Day 1

I was still half asleep when I arrived at KL Sentral with Horny and remained in that state until we had some breakfast. Met up with Michelle Marie (MM) at the Mid Valley station. Horny told his usual lame jokes to keep us laughing throughout our journey. Later, we met up with Hao Wei (HW) and his gang of scouts juniours and went to Seremban Parade for lunch (BTW, don't order the chicken rice there...Yuck!!) and later bought some stuff to eat during our trip. Then me, horny, MM, and 2 juniours took a bus to Ulu Bendol. There we lepak-ed until HW finally arrived in his van to take us to our "campsite".

Here it is:

Nice Eh?Yup! Nice wheather there...and of course Haze-free!!I mean what do you expect? Its a forest reserve..Anyways, after the initial shock at the state of the toilets there (It was really dirty...seriously...even the toilet bowl doesn't flush) we settled down and made our way to the river. There was an easier way to get up the river (i.e on dry land) but NOO we had a sudden rush of Advanturous Hormones and climbed up the river via boulders and rocks wo get furthur up where there were less people. "If we are furthur up enough, it woudn't matter if other people pee in the river coz we won't get it," we thought. After splashing ice cold water at each other, we started taking dozens of photos. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my darling (my handphone) to ther river so I wasn't able to take any. Later we made our way back to our challet and one by one took "showers" in the disgusting toilet. After that, me and Horny helped out the girls cooking..welll sort of anyway. I helped errr carrying pots and pans all over the place. But at least horny was able to fry some nuggets which to my amazement still looked edible. Around 7.30 pm, we called the 3 kids down and started dinner. Everything was really good, even the nuggets. Soon, we gathered around the living room and decided to play Mafia which was not very successful because:

  1. There were only 8 of us
  2. We kept forgeting which card represents which characters
  3. The Kids kept revealing their characters accidently

We continued lepak-ing until HW's parents came with KAJANG SATAY!! The satay and the sauce was like.....ahhhh *drools over keyboard*...After that, Horny gave me one really ridiculously difficult IQ test on his laptop which Jez scored 160 something (Chee Sin arr??) I only managed to scrape a 117 which was errrr high intelligence? score on the test. At around 1 pm we went to bed.

Day 2

Haihh..another day with not enough sleep firstly because it was FREEZING there and secondly because Nalgulen who was sleeping beside me was talking in his sleep (He was shouting: Nooo!! Not there!!! really loudly). Me and Horny then helped out the girls again to cook fried mee which was seriously tasteless. It was MM's idea to put almost a whole bottle of chilli sauce tofry together with the mee. Soon, breakfast was ready and me and Horny made our own special sandwitch which consists of

  1. Bread with butter
  2. Tuna
  3. Tasteless Fried Mee on top

Wierd combination eh? It was quite nice anyways.

Soon, me and Horny started packing our stuff said good bye to everyone. We weren't actually able to climb Gunung Angsi because Horny had some stuff to do in INTI and my dad didn't allow me to climb up in such hazy wheather. After saying our last good byes, we set of and left the campsite with heavy hearts..Wished I could climbed up Gunung Angsi but oh well..maybe next time

Whoahh..kinda late now...gtg.

till next time

Nike Exposed?

I was looking through the photos in my handphone when I saw this :

A french fries the shape of Nike????In Mc D in mid valley

Has Nike infiltrated even our food? I mean sure, you have see Nike signs on everything from socks to caps and even on some underwear but I've never seen one on a FRENCH FRIES! Has Nike gone as far as advertising on our food? Has Nike made some sort of deal with Mc D? How has this influenced the minds of the people? What would they do next? Have burgers the shape of Nike?

Or maybe its just a mere coincidence??

P.S : Kinda bored of studying so I decided to crap a little to un-bored-kan myself

La Si Xiong San [Bring Shit to Own Body (in cantonese) ]

Yes..That is what happened when I registered to take Biology as my 4th subject in A levels. I remember around SPM time last year I was struggling with Biology and promised myself that I would not take Biology in college or university. I don't know what was I thinking when I took Biology earlier this year. "Just take only la, can increase general knowledge what. And some more take 4 subjects easier to apply for scholarship" Yeah right....that is if I don't fail my Biology exams first before applying for scholarship.

So whats so tough about Biology? You may ask....

The answer is-

  1. Its just like HISTORY!. You keep on memorising facts and pouring it out on your exam paper. Whats the use of that. My brain is already over saturated with my chemistry and physics notes.
  2. They crammed the whole of form 4, 5 and 6 into A levels which last around 15 months. Imagine learning what should be taught in 4 years in 15 months.
  3. I just don't like Bio. Bio = Boring
  4. And another thing is that department of A levels didn't give us the answer for the past-year questions they gave us to do. So, I have absoloutely no idea whether my answers in my past-year questions are correct or not.
  5. You have to memorise how some of the molecules look like and draw them in the exam.

Also i'm gonna take an engineering course after my A levels, so whats the use of bio?? haihhh...what to do? have to live with the choices I made earlier and remember NOT to take Biology in University.

Its getting hazier here. There is a burining smell everywhere. Gives me a big headache. As if studying for Biology does give me a big enough headache.

Biology mock exam is tommorow..

The Truth is out!!! Teachers Are Out To Get Us!!!

4 exams spreaded out over one week??? WTFish?? the lecturers in HELP UC all like to give exams at the same time. Its like the have their own secret meeting in somewhere far far away and plan to give us all the assignments and exams at the same time. I sense some conspiration going on here in HELP. I mean, why can't they spread out their exams a bit. Well, my weeks schedule is something like this:

Monday
Chemistry Unit 1 Mock Exam
Chemistry Unit 2 Mock Exam
Lan Class ( Malaysian Studies)

Tuesday
Study for Bio Mock Exam

Wednesday
Pass up Malaysian Studies Assignment (4000 words!!!!!)
Lan Class ( Moral Studies)

Thursday
Biology Unit 1 Mock Exam
Biology Unit 2 Mock Exam

Friday - Sunday
Gunung Angsi Trip!!!!!

Its supposed to be term break for A-Levels Students now for 3 weeks. There is an unwritten law saying that students are supposed to do nothing but waste their time during their term break. But the teachers here obviously don't know nuts about this law. Don't they need to rest?? And guess what? Pn Lin (Maths teacher) and Ms Fong (Biology teacher) are giving us somemore exams straight after the term break (great!! just what I needed). Its like an exam marathon for A level students. Kesian.......

Ok, enough of that. Today I was really rushing for time and came an hour late for Lan Class (not to say that it is a bad thing). This is all because of me deciding to go to SS2 to buy some lunch before lan class eventhough it was 3. 50pm and my class starts at 4.00pm. Anyways, after rushing to Mc D to buy a take-away a big mac, i rushed back to my car and took off. Unfortunately, I took a wrong turn (ok...maybe more than 1 but..) and ended up on the federal highway. How did that happened? Sometimes I amaze myself. Somehow I finally found my way back to the Jalan Bangsar and slowly but surely made my way back to HELP. At last at 4.50 pm, I reached the college. However, on my way back , the car in front of me suddenly braked causing me to break hard as well. According to Newton's First Law, the Mc D frech fries which was on the passenger seat continued its forward motion eventhough I braked causing my fries to spill all over my front seat. Haihh, poor fries, but good thing I managed to finish 2/3 of it before the tragic incident happened. My car is going to have the sweet smell of rotting fries for the next few days

BTW, for those non-HELP people, there is also a Mc D located right above the main block (which is where my lan class is). I could have just gone back to college and rushed up to buy some food but NOOOO.. I had to go to SS2 to buy my burger..

I ended up knowing SS2 ALOT better..

New Place, More Stuff to See, The Faster Your Wallets Becomes Empty

Amazingly I got up early enough (7:30 am - hehe, what can I say? I'm not a mornig person -duh!) to go to the 8.00 am service at church. Usually I don't go to the early morning service but somehow today I managed to drag myself out of the comfort of my bed in time to make it for service.

Anyways, after service (don't really remember what the pastor said during the sermon) me and my dad rushed to the KL Convention Centre where the new PIKOM PC Fair is held. The place was really big and so many booths to go to but after a while every booth seem to sell the same stuff.. Tiny MP3 players, Memory Cards, Thumbdrives and stuff like that. Unfortunately they haven't been able to produce mini SD-Cards with 1 GB memory (Whats up with that??).Haihhh.. the only thing I MIGHT have bought.

Now they even have a MP3 player with a colour screen the size of my thumbnail !!!wow..who would buy that? Imagine watching the Lord of The Rings on it in the bus or on the LRT. Everyone staring at you while you are sitting at one corner watching it on a tiny screen that's smaller than a 20 cent coin. I mean you probably won't even be able to see the people's face on a screen that small. Nevertheless, the MP3 player was highly popular there.

Now this is interesting....wouldn't mind having a PC like that. I mean just look at all the neon lights (if you can...quite blur la). And there is some sort of water cooling thingie so replace the fan so that your computer won't overheat.

In the end, I didn't buy anything but got loads of free stuff for example a free wireless optical mouse, 100 sheets of photo paper (but I don't think my printer can print on this type of paper. But its free anyways , so just take it anyway), a free T-Shirt (which is obviously too big for me. All free T-shirts only come in XXL size. Can't they make it just a "little" smaller so that its wear-able by normal people like me), a free microphone, and also a free wired optical mouse. We got some of these stuff free because we bought a WEBCAM!!!...

The conclusion is Bigger place = More free stuff.

Mock Exams Next MONDAY!!!!

Why am I even doing this blog now??I should be back in my room with my @$$ glued to my chair and burrying my nose in my chemistry textbooks. Reasons are :

1. I am so very bored
2. Nothing to do
3. Writting this is probably better than sitting in my room and staring at the ceiling
4. Somehow this blog thingie came up to my mind
5. Bored + No PC in my room = makes me do alot of random stuff
6. Just felt like writting for a change (There is no English class in A-Levels)

Anyways, I just spent the whole day stuck in my room mostly day-dreaming. Tried to study chemistry but keep getting distracted.

Guess I better get back studying before I feel more guilty

and also PC fair is tommorow in the newly built KL Convention Centre!!!!!!!

All the more I should get to work now
